Boca Juniors want to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira in the summer.
The Uruguayan midfielder is currently on a season long loan with Atlético Madrid in La Liga, but he ahs had a difficult time under Diego Simeone, and has been sparingly used, with most of his appearances coming off the bench.
To make matters worse for him ,e recently lost his mother, who died from Covid at the age of just 53.
After that, he expressed a wish to return to South America, in order to be closer to his family, and name checked Boca Juniors, who have now responded by saying that they would like to sign him.
A major stumbling block though will be transfer fee with the Argentine club unlikely to be able to afford anything like the money that Arsenal will want for him.
The Gunners paid Sampdoria £26 million for him in 2018, and with two years left on his current deal at the end of this season, will be looking to recoup a substantial proportion of that to reinvest in the squad.
