Spurs have joined the race to sign Danish under-21 striker Wahid Faghir.
However, they face competition from Leicester City who have already had a £1 million bid turned d down for the 17 year-old who has been described as the next “Zlatan Ibrahimovich”.
The teenager has already played 36 times for his boyhood club Vejle in the Danish Superliga, scoring 8 times, and providing four assists.
Tottenham have a good record when it comes to developing Danish players. Christian Eriksen became a star during his time in North London, whilst Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has proved to be a shrewd acquisition, having been bought from Southampton last summer.
Eredivisie champions and league leaders Ajax have also been linked with Fakhir who has initiated that he wants to move away from his native Denmark to play football at a higher level. He is reported to have ambitions of playing for Real Madrid one day.
