Liverpool are ready to bid for Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Çakir.
The Trabzonspor player was appearing in a World Cup qualifier against Norway against Oslo on Sunday.
The Premier League champions had sent scouts initially to watch Erling Haaland, but it was Çakir who caught the eye in Turkey’s impressive 3 – 0 away win.
And now the Reds are lining-up a £14.5 million summer move for the 24-year-old stopper.
The Merseyside club are in the market for a reliable back-up to Alisson Becker. Current number two Adrian has been inconsistent between the sticks when called -upon, whilst young Irish keeper Caoimhim Keller, whilst he has never let the side down, is inexperienced at the top level,.
Çakir has kept 10 clean sheets for his club this season, who are currently fourth in the Turkish Super Lig table.
He was previously on Chelsea’s radar last season before they opted for Édouard Mendy instead.
