Sergio Agüero will leave Manchester City at the end of the season when his current contract expires.
The 32-year old has been told by the club that he will not be offered an extension. However, he will leave a lasting legacy at the Etihad in the shape of a statue outside the ground which will commemorate his achievements as the club’s all-time goal scorer.
Since joining City from Atlético Madrid, he has scored 257 goals in 394 appearances for the club, and helped them win four league titles, the FA Cup and five League Cups.
However, this season he has only been a bit-part player due to a combination of injury and illness, and has only started nine games, scoring three goals.
It is not yet clear what his next destination is, although he has been linked with several European clubs, most notably Barcelona where he could hook-up with his close friend Lionel Messi.
