AC Milan have begun talks with Manchester United to make the loan deal for Diego Dalot into a permanent move.
The right-back is on a season long loan from Old Trafford to the Serie A side, and has impressed so much during his time in Italy that they want to keep him.
Now they have tabled an opening bid of £12 million for the 22-year old.
Earlier this month Ole Gunnar Solskjaer indicated that he was looking forward to welcoming Dalot back to Old Trafford at the end of the season, but that may just have been a negotiating ploy to try and force his price as high as possible.
United will be looking to recoup as much as possible as the “18 million they paid Porto for him back in 2018.
Dalot’s time In England was dogged by a combination of poor form and injuries, and he was firmly behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the pecking order at the time of his move to Italy.
