Midfielder Nabil Fakir is back on Arsenal’s radar again.
The 27-year-old French international was heavily linked with the Gunners whilst he was at Lyon. In 2018 he was on the verge of a move to the Premier League and Liverpool but the deal collapsed at the last minute and he ended-up joining Seville-based Real Betis instead.
They considered making a move for him last summer before eventually agreeing to extend Dani Ceballos’ loan spell from Real Madrid for another year,
But now they are ready to try again for a player who has scored three goals and provided six assists in 25 league appearances for Betis this season, who are now managed by former Manchester City and West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini.
That has propelled them into contention for the European places at end of the season.
Fekir’s current contract with the Spanish club runs until 2013, but reports in Spain suggest that the Gunners have already enquired about his potential availability.
