Manchester United are set to offer full-back Luke Shaw a new deal at the club.
The 25-year-old left-back has enjoyed a fine season at Old Trafford, and has earned an England recall for their forthcoming qualifiers against San Marino, Albania, and Poland.
He now appears free from the injury and fitness problems that have hampered him since joining the club from Southampton I 2014, and has responded positively to the challenge posed by last summer’s signing Alex Telles.
Shaw, who became the most expensive teenager when he moved to the club from the Saints still has two years left in his current deal. However, he is regarded as an integral part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans going forward, and they want to give him fresh terms which will align him more closely with the big earners at the club.
He made himself an instant hero to United fans when he scored his first goal of the season in the Manchester derby against City two weeks ago.
