Midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum will leave Liverpool in the summer when his contract ends.
It has now been reported that the Dutch international has already agreed a pre-contract desal to become the first signing of Joan Laporta’s second spell as president of the Spanish club.
That ends months of speculation about the future of the midfielder who has been heavily linked with Barcelona in the last two transfer windows.
Liverpool wanted him to sign a contract extension, but, in the end, the two sides failed to reach an agreement on the terms offered and the length of any new deal.
The 30-year-old signed for the reigning Premier League champions in 2016 from Newcastle United, and has gone on to play 225 times for them scoring 22 times.
He has played every Premier League game for them this season, but now Liverpool knows there is a gap in their squad which will need to be filled in the summer.
