Midfielder Mohamed Elneny wants to sign a new contract with Arsenal.
The Egyptian midfielder will have one year left on his current deal in North London in the summer, but has made it clear that he is very much open to the idea of staying with the club if given the chance saying “ if Arsenal say to me: ‘Sign a new contract’, of course I would be happy to do this.”
Signed from FC Basel by Arsène Wenger in January 2016, many assumed that his Gunners career was over when he fell out of favour under Unai Emery and was allowed to go on loan to Beşiktaş last season.
However, he impressed during his time in Turkey, and was given a second chance by Mikel Arteta when he returned to the Emirates at the start of this season.
And he has repaid the faith shown in him by going on to make 31 appearances in all competitions, and scoring twice for the club in their Europa League campaign.
