Liverpool are expected to join the hunt for Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge.
The 23-year-old Norwegian is currently out injured having had surgery following a tendon injury he picked up in a Premier League match against Aston Villa in December, but that has not stopped the interest in him from other clubs, with Villa themselves also monitoring his progress.
Klopp is looking to reinforce the centre of his midfield, with Gini Wijnaldum widely expected to join Barcelona when his contract expires at the end of the season, and Berge has been identified as a potential option and one who will come at an affordable price.
United, who dismissed manager Chris Wilder last weekend are rock bottom of the Premier League and are odds-on for relegation, which mans that their brightest stars, like Berge will be looking to move, rather than drop down into the Championship.
Berge moved to the South Yorkshire club for a club record fee of £22 million from Belgian side Genk at the start of the 2020 season.
