Chelsea want £17 million for full-back Emerson Palmeiri.
The Italian international has not started a Premier League game all season and was an unused substitute in the club’s goalless draw against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.
Despite his lack of first-team involvement, the West London are unwilling to allow him to leave on the cheap and are looking to recoup most of the £17.6 million they paid Roma for him in January 2018, when Antonio Conte was manager of the club.
Conte’s current club Inter Milan and Napoli are both keen on bringing the 26-year old Brazilian born defender back to Italy, and tried to negotiate a deal for him in January, although they were deterred by Chelsea’s asking price for the left back.
Palmeiri has chosen to play his international football for Italy claiming ancestry on his mother’s side and has 12 caps for his adopted country.
