Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is about to pen a new deal as Manchester United manager.
The Norwegian’s existing contract at Old Trafford is about to enter its final 12 months, but all speculation about hs future now seems at an end, as he is about to be rewarded for the progress he has made.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward believes he has helped restore the old spirit to the club after the regimes of Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, and, although they have yet to win a trophy under Solskjaer, the feeling around the club is that the future is bright both on and off the field.
And the derby win over Manchester City last weekend only boosted his stock with the club’s hierarchy even more.
Solskjaer’s new deal will see him earn a healthy boost to his current £7 million a year salary, and is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
