Stuttgart want Mavropanos stay

Stuttgart want to extend Dinos Mavropanos to extend his loan stray with the Bundesliga side for another season.

The 25-year-old joined the German side on loan from Arsenal last summer, and now he has developed into a regular start for them.

Stuttgart’s sporting director Sven Mislintat, who previously worked at Arsenal, and was partly responsible for recruiting the Greek to the Emirates in the first place said “We would like to keep him on loan one more season, if possible. But that will be down to Arsenal”.

Mavropanos signed for Arsenal from PAS Giannina in 2018, but has struggled with injuries since. A pubic bone injury kept him out of action for more than a year and a half, and shortly after his arrival at Stuttgart, he tore his meniscus.

Arsenal may be open to allowing him to extend his stary as they need to find room in their squad next season for another young defender William Saliba, who is currently on loan back in France with Nice.

Given that the Gunners have invested £28 million in Saliba, there is much greater pressure on them to justify their outlay on him.
