Norwich City are already planning to approach Tottenham with a view to extending Oliver Skipp’s loan by a further 12 months If they succeed in gaining promotion back to the Premier League.
The East Anglian side are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Championship ahead of second place Watford.
Skipp joined Norwich on loan ahead of the 2020 – 21 season and has been a key protagonist in their promotion push, making 35 appearances for the Canaries so far. Two weeks ago, he scored the first goal of his career in their 3 -1 win away at Birmingham.
Norwich’s financial situation means that it would be impossible for them to make a permanent move for the 20-year-old, but no decision about Skipp’s future is likely until the end of the season.
Much will hang on what Tottenham want to do – whether they decide he is ready to challenge for a first-team spot with them, or if it will be better for him to continue his development with Norwich.
