Liverpool warned off Gerrard

Rangers Chairman Dave King has warned off Liverpool from making any approach for Steven Gerrard if they decide to replace Jurgen Klopp.

It was an afternoon for conflicting emotions for the two men on Sunday. Gerrard was celebrating after leading Rangers to their first Scottish league title in ten years.

Meanwhile, Klopp suffered his sixth successive home league defeat to Fulham, which gave them the unwanted record of the longest top-flight losing streak by a reigning champion.

Almost inevitably, speculation has become intense linking Gerrard with a  return to his former club, but King insists there is a “zero per cent” chance of that happening in the near future.

First, he does not believe Liverpool are prepared to jettison Klopp so soon after leading them to title glory, and he also believes that Gerrard will not be satisfied with winning the league just once.

He has already set his sights on defending the title again next season and he wants to get the club into the Champions League.
