Chelsea are ready to offer Danish defender Andreas Christensen a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year old is out of contract at the end of next season, but Thomas Tuchel’s side are aware that other clubs will be aware of his situation, and want to forestall any speculation.
Christensen is one of the players who has been rehabilitated since Tuchel became manager.
Since being brought in to replace Thiago Silva in the won at Tottenham, he has missed just one game, and has been one of the reasons for Chelsea’s new defensive solidity. They have conceded just one goal in that time.
Christensen signed for Chelsea in 2012 back when Andrea Villas-Boas was still in charge of the club.
In 2015 he joined Borussia Monchengladbach on a two year deal, but returned to West London for he start of the 2017 – 2018 season.
He has won 38 senior caps for Denmark.
