Manchester United are tracking the Bayer Leverkusen pair of Edmond Tapsoba and Leon Bailey.
Tapsoba is a 22-year-old centre-back who plays his international football for Burkina Faso. He has become the mainstay of the Leverkusen defence this season ,and has not missed a minute of league action, acquiring a reputation for his ability on the ball, and tactical awareness,
Bailley is a 23-year old Jamaican winger who has long been coveted by Premier League clubs. Tottenham are also monitoring his situation, as are AC Milan.
In the case of Tapsoba, he ha just signed a new contract whi9c runs until 2026, and Leverkusen are unwilling to let him go for less than his release clause, which is currently estimated to be at least £44 million.
However, Bailly may be easier to prize away. His own deal runs until 2023 and, although Leverkusen would dearly like him to say, they know they face an uphill battle to convince him and may be ready to cash in instead.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
