Chelsea are reported to have opened talks with Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle.
It comes as Thomas Tuchel has indicated that he may look to his native Germany for his summer signings.
The 25-year old will be entering the final year of his contract with the German champions’ this summer ,and, although Bayern would like to offer him a new deal, they are no sure if their final position will allow them to match his wage demands.
Süle has a current market value of £33 million, and is primarily a centre-back, although he can also operate as a right-back.
The German international began his professional career with Hoffenheim, before joining Bayern in 2017. He ahs gone on to make 125 appearances in all competitions for them, but missed much of their winning Champions League campaign last season after rearing his ACL.
He was part of the German Olympic squad that won a silver medal in Rio in 2016, and now has 28 caps for the senior national side.
