RB Leipzig have activated their option to make the loan deal for Manchester City’s Angelino into a permanent arrangement.
The 24-year old left back moved to the Red Bull Arena on loan in January 2020, where he has often been deployed in a wing-back role by manager Julian Nagelsman. He has used that attacking license to find the net 8 times this season, and he also has 11 assists to his name.
Now the Bundesliga side have exercised their option for a cost of £16.3 million and he has signed a four and a half year contract with them.
Angelinho originally joined City from Deportivo La Coruna but failed to establish himself at the Etihad and was senton loan to New York City, Girona, Real Mallorca, and NAC Bread.
In 2018 PSV Eindhoven signed him permanently, but a year later, City exercised a buy-back option for him.
He failed, however, to impress the second time round either and, in the end, played just 15 times for the Premier League club in all competitions.
