Manchester City are in the market for a new striker in the summer, with Sergio Agüero linked with a possible departure.
The 33-year-old is out of contract and is tipped to leave the Etihad after ten years during which he has become City’s all-time top goal scorer. This season though he has barely featured due to a string of injury and fitness problems, making just two Premier League starts so far.
Now two men who are in the frame to replace him are Danny Ings and Romelu Lukaku.
Former Liverpool striker Ings is refusing to commit to a new deal with Southampton, because he wants to play Champions League football again. He has also been linked with Tottenham recently.
Meanwhile, Lukaku, who struggled in his second season with City’s neighbours United, has enjoyed a new lease of life since moving to Italy to join Inter Milan, and has become one of the most feared strikers in Serie A.
