Manchester City have turned down the chance to sign former striker Eden Dzeko again.
The Bosnian international was offered to City during the current window, with the Premier League side have had to make do with their regular forwards of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
However, Pep Guardiola has said that he is happy with his squad at the moment, and no wonder – Saturday’s defeat of Sheffield United set a club record of 12 successive wins.
The 34-year-old striker spent five seasons at the Etihad, winning the Premier League twice.
He is set to leave Roma after his relationship with manager Paolo Fonesca, and now there are reports that he could be involved in a swap deal with former Arsenal and Manchester United forward Alexi Sanchez.
He is currently with Inter Milan, but he has struggled to impress under Antonio Conte, and they are open to allow him to leave in order to boost their striking options.
