Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign two highly-rated Brazilian teenagers.
It is expected that Kayky and Metinho, who are both 17, will agree to join the Premier League club for a combined fee of £9 million, although City fans should not expect to see either of them involved in the first-team soon. Both are reviewed as future stars.
Instead, they are likely to be lent to one of the clubs in their City Football Group in order to continue their development.
Kayky, who has also been linked with Shakhtar Donetsk, can play as a winger or a forward, and has been compared as similar in style to Neymar.
By contrast Metinho, who was born in the Congo, is more of a central midfield player, in the mould of a Paul Pogba.
The latest moves continue City’s policy of signing top young South American talent, capturing them early so they can learn the demands of European football.
