Frank Lampard faces the sack if Chelsea’s results do not improve soon.
Their defeat to Leicester on Tuesday night was their sixth loss of the season and now Lampard is under pressure, with a number of candidates for his job wating in the wings, including Thomas Tuchel and Max Allegri.
They are now eighth in the table, after a poor run which has seen then lose five out of the last eight league matches.
That is not what the club expected when they sanctioned the spending of more than £200 million in the last transfer window, but the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have yet to settle in West London as yet and Lampard seems unsure of what is his best team.
The club’s next three games are against Luton Town in the FA Cup and then Wolves and Burnley in the Premier League and Lampard may need to win all of them to quell the speculation.
