Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a future at Chelsea insists Frank Lampard.
The 24-year-old is on loan with West London neighbours Fulham this season, and has made 13 appearances for Scott Parker’s men so far, even though he has yet to fully hit his stride.
However, Lampard has been encouraged by his progress and has no inclination to sell him, despite his surfeit of options at Stamford Bridge.
He was ineligible for the West London derby between the two sides on Saturday evening at Craven Cottage, which Chelsea won with a late goal from Mason Mount against a home side that played the second-half with only ten men.
Loftus-Cheek’s career at Stamford Bridge was derailed by the Achilles’ injury that he picked up in a post season friendly under Lampard’s predecessor Maurizio Sarri, and it has been a long haul back for him to regain his fitness, and the form that made him a regular England international.
