Atlético Madrid are ready to reignite their interest in Alexandre Lacazette once more.
They were linked with the French international when he was at Lyon, but instead he moved to the Gunners in 2017 in a £47 million fee, after the Spanish club were given a transfer ban by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
However, he will have just a year left on his current contract with the Gunners in the summer, and they are not mindful to offer him an extension, despite him being the club’s top scorer this season.
There are also reports that he enjoys a strained relationship with manager Mikel Arteta.
A sticking point in any deal could be the recent bad blood between the two clubs, with Atlético still unhappy with how Arsenal signed midfielder Thomas Partey in the summer. For their part, the Gunners are dissatisfied with the lack of first-team opportunities afford to Lucas Torreira in his loan spell with the Spanish league leaders.
