The race to sign Arsenal’s teenage striker Folarin Balogun has intensified with three clubs competing for his signature, although reports that he has signed a pre-contract agreement with RB Leipzig appear wide of the mark.
The 19-year old is out of contract at the Emirates in the summer, and although the Gunners would dearly like to keep him and have offered Balogun a new deal, he is looking for guarantees of first-team football whch they cannot provide.
The situation from Arsenal’s viewpoint is complicated by the fact that Balogun is represented by the same agent as Eddie Nketiah, who is a rival for his place in the first-team squad. and it is impossible to keep both of them happy.
As he is in the last six months of his contract, Balogun’s representatives are free to talk with clubs from abroad.
