Representatives of Jesse Lingard are in discussions about a loan move to Nice.
The 28-year-old recently signed a contract extension with Manchester United to protect his value, but he is seeking regular game time after barely featuring for the first-team in the past year or so.
Although he started the FA Cup tie with Watford last weekend, along with a number of fringe players, he was rusty and failed to impress. He has not been named in the first team line-up for a Premier League game for more than 12 months.
Lingard has made 210 appearances in all competitions for the Reds, scoring 33 goals, but he is currently a long way from the man who has won 24 caps for England, after a series of off-the-field problems.
Nice are currently 13th in Ligue 1, and fired their manager Patrick Vieira before Christmas. They have recently taken another Premier League reject on loan in the form of Arsenal’s William Saliba.

He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
