Arsenal have dropped their interest in Norwich City midfielder Emi Buendia.
That is after the Championship club quoted them a price of £40 million for the 24-year-old Argentine.
The Gunners are in the market for a creative midfielder, now that the Mesut Ozil saga now finally seeming to be coming to an end, with the German World Cup winner edging closer to a departure to Fenerbahçe.
They have been linked with a string of names, amongst them Isco, Julian Brandt, and Houssem Aouar, but none seem likely to move to North London in the current window.
And now it looks like Buendia can be added to that list. Norwich are chasing promotion back to the Premier League, with the financial benefits that will bring far outweighing any short-term funds boost they will get by selling one of their best players.
