West Ham are tracking the situation of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
The Hammers are in the market for a new forward after selling record signing Sébastian Haller to Ajax for £20 million, less than half of what they paid Eintracht Frankfurt for him 18 months ago.
Manager David Moyes has been promised that the money raised from his sale can be used to strengthen his squad.
A number of strikers are under consideration, among them Bournemouth’s Joshua King, but Nketiah is also on their wish list.
The 21-year-old recently broke Alan Shearer’s record of goals for the England under-21 side, but he is out of contract at the Emirates in 18 months’ time, and there has been no decision made yet as to whether to offer him a new contract.
He has scored five times in all competitions this season but, with the restoration of Gabriel Martinelli to full fitness, he may struggle for game time in the second part of the season.
