According to an independent research group, Marcus Rashford is currently the most valuable player in the world, ahead of Erling Haaland and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Swiss-based consultancy firm CIES Football Observatory estimates Rashford’s transfer value at €165.6 million, with Haaland at €152 million, and Alexander-Arnold at €151.6 million. Fourth on the list is another United player Bruno Fernandes.
The valuation considers not only their transfer value but also a player’s age and the length of time they have left on their current deal.
That is why Lionel Messi, who has just 6 months left on his current deal, is valued at only €54 million, and Cristiano Ronaldo at €47 million.
The top twenty list is dominated by Premier League players, with Raheen Stirling and Rúben Dias from Manchester City, Liverpool Mo Salah and Sadio Mané, and the Chelsea trio of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Mason Mount all featuring. Arsenal are represented by Bukayo Saka.
