Both Manchester United and Chelsea are competing to sign 19-year old Ecuadoran midfielder Moisés Caicedo.
Ajax are also said to be interested in the player who recently made history by becoming the first man born in the 21st century to score in a South American World Cup qualifier.
United though would appear to be the favourites to sign Caicedo, and they have already begun talks with his club Independiente de Valle, who are reconciled to losing him in the current transfer window. They have demanded an initial fee of £5.5 million plus add-ons for a player who has made 25 appearances for them, scoring four times.
He has already appeared for the Ecuador national team four times, with the one goal against Uruguay in October.
Whether Caicedo has enough points to qualify for the necessary Premier League exemption certificate in the wake of the new post-Brexit rules remains to be seen.
