Tottenham have begun exploratory talks with striker Harry Kane about a contract extension.
The 27-year-old is already under contract with the North London club until 2024, but they are keen to tie him down so that he will spend his peak years with Tottenham.
Kane is having another fine season under Jose Mourinho, scoring 10 Premier League goals already, whilst he is leading the way in terms of assists, providing 11 so far, and forming a highly effective partnership with Son Heung-min in attack.
Despite his long existing contract, chairman Daniel Levy wants to stave off interest from Manchester City and Paris St-Germain, with the French club likely to be linked with a number of Spurs players now that former manager Mauricio Pochettino has been confirmed as the new boss of the French club.
Already speculation linking Dele Ali with a loan move there in the January transfer window has intensified.
