Tottenham fans hoping that their side will be busy in the January transfer window are likely to be disappointed.
That follows comments by Jose Mourinho saying it would be a “big surprise” if they did any business in the January window and that he would not be asking chairman Daniel Levy for funds to reinforce his squad.
Instead, a number of outgoings might be expected with Dele Ali, Paulo Gazzaniga and Danny Rose amongst the list of those that the club are looking to trim from their squad, either permanently, or, in the case of Ali, on a temporary loan deal.
That is despite a recent blip in form which has seen them has seen them slip from top spot to seventh in the table. However, Mourinho asserts that Spurs are not the only team to undergo a tough run this season, and claims that the injury-time defeat against Liverpool at Anfield had damage confidence in the squad for a while.
