Mauricio Pochettino is set to return to football with PSG.
The 48-year-old has been out of the game since being sacked as Tottenham manager last November. But now he is on the verge of joining PSG after they announced the sacking of Thomas Tuchel just before Christmas.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager had led the French side to a domestic treble and also to the final of the Champions League in August where they were beaten by Bayern Munich.
However, after losses to Manchester United and RB Leipzig in the Champions League and a slightly stuttering start to the league campaign (they are currently third behind Lyon and Lille) the club’s wealthy Qatari owners decided to pull the trigger and fire the German.
He is set to receive £5.4 million in compensation.
Pochettino could be set for n early reunion with one of his former Spurs’ stars.
Dele Alli had already been heavily linked with a loan move to Paris, but with Pochettino in situ, that now seems even more likely.
