Real linked with shock Foden move
Real Madrid are being linked with a shock move for Manchester City and England midfielder Phil Foden.
They are hoping to exploit his growing frustration over his lack of opportunities at the Etihad, especially in the Premier League where he has started just five matches so far this season. He appeared as an injury time substitute in the Boxing Day win over Newcastle United.
That was not how it was meant to be. The departure of David Silva in the summer was thought to pave the way for Foden to become a regular this season, but that is not how things have transpired in practice, and he ahs spent most of the campaign so far warming the bench.
Pep Guardiola has described Foden in the past as one of the most talented players he ahs ever seen, but, seemingly unwilling to trust hi, that may give long-term admirers Real the chance to make their move.
