Amad Diallo’s move to Manchester United has moved one step closer after the winger obtained an Italian passport.
And now he is expected finally to arrive at Old Trafford in January.
The Premier League club agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old, who was born in the Ivory Coast for £37.2 million from Atalanta on transfer deadline day in October. However, because he lacked the international background he had trouble obtaining a work permit, but the news that he has now secured an Italian passport should now ease the path to his integration into the United squad.
Diallo came through the Atalanta academy system and made his senior debut for them last season in the 7 -1 thrashing of Udinese. He has yet to play for the first team this season, although he has three times been an unused substitute, but he continues to impress in training.
