Jose Mourinho wants to bring back Luka Modrić to Tottenham.
The 35-year old’s current contract with Real Madrid comes to an end next summer, and Mourinho has reportedly already made contact with the Croatian international about a return to the club he left in 2012 for a fee of £30 million.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane wants the club to offer a new contract to Modrić, as well as Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vasquez, who are in similar contractual situations, but at the moment negotiations have stalled.
Modrić joined Spurs from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2008 and went onto play for them 159 times, scoring 17 goals during his time at White Hart Lane.
In his time with Real he has won the league title twice, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League four times.
He was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2018, and won the Golden Ball award at the last World Cup.
