Manchester United could make a move for West Ham’s Declan Rice next summer – although he is believed to favour a return to his old club Chelsea.
He was released by the Stamford Bridge side when he was 16-year-old and picked-up by West Ham where he has since gone on to forge a successful career, both with them and England. He has already won 13 senior caps and looks certain to be part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros next summer.
Earlier this week Rice, who is now 21, played his 100th Premier League game for the Hammers in the draw against Crystal Palace at the London Stadium.
Rice was heavily linked with Chelsea again in the last transfer window, although in the end nothing came of the speculation. And now United, who are in the market for a defensive midfielder, are considering adding him to their list of summer targets.
