Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for Granit Xhaka.
His actions have been largely condemned by the club’s fans during the match with Burnley at the weekend when he grabbed Ashley Westwood by the neck after the pair clashed.
He was shown a yellow card for the original foul, but that was subsequently upgraded to a red by the referee after a VAR check. Burnley took full advantage of having an extra man and went on to win the game, courtesy of a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang own goal.
For some that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. It was the latest example of ill-discipline from a man who seemed destined to leave the club a year ago after he was stripped of the captaincy following his petulant reaction to being substituted in a game against Crystal Palace.
He was on the verge of a move to Hertha Berlin, but Mikel Arteta convinced him to stay at the time.
Now though even Arteta has lost patience with him and is ready to let him go If a suitable buyer can be found.
