Arsenal defender William Saliba wants to stay in the UK if he is allowed to leave in the UK.
Signed from St. Étienne for £27 million in the summer of 2019, he has yet to make a senior appearance for the Gunners. He spent last season back on loan at the Ligue 1 side, and when he eventually moved to the Emirates, he failed to convince Mikel Arteta and his coaching team that he was ready for first-team football.
He almost re-joined Saint-Étienne on a further loan on deadline day but the paperwork could not be completed in time.
Saliba was left out of both the Premier League and Europa League squads, and, although the Gunners do still believe in his long-term potential another loan spell seems in his best interests at this time.
However, now he wants to stay in the UK because he feels it will help him adapt to British football better.
