Mesut Ozil has been linked with a move to MLS side DC United in January.
The 32-year-old has not played for Arsenal all season having been left out of both their Premier League and Europa League squads by manager Mikel Arteta, for undisclosed reasons, although it is believed to do with his off-field activities and views.
He remains the club’s top earner at £350,000 a week, and is out of contract in the summer.
There have been indications that the club may be willing to pay off the balance of his contract just to get him off their books, and now there are suggestions that a move to the US would have commercial benefits for him.
He owns an e-Sports team and has his own clothing collection and believes that he will be better able to manage their activities from the US. He is also looking to establish his own football academy in America as well.
