Georginio Wijnaldum has refused to eb drawn about his future as speculation continues to link him with a move to Barcelona.
However, he has hinted that he is waiting for Liverpool to make the first move if they want to extend his stay wit the club.
The Dutch international is out of contract at the end of the season and that means he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club next month.
He continues to be a major part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans, making ten Premier League starts for the club so far this season, and had another fine match in Sunday evening, scoring the second as his side thrashed Wolves 4 – 0.
However, when asked about his contractual situation afterwards, Wijnaldum said that the question should better be directed to Liverpool.
Ronald Koeman, the Barcelona manager, knows Wijnaldum well from his time in charge of the Dutch national team and wanted to sign him this summer, although the 30-year-old never came close to leaving Anfield then.
