Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is being linked with a surprise move to Scotland, with the Auld Firm duo of Celtic and rangers both reported to be interested in him.
He is now way down the pecking order at United since the arrival of both Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek at the club and has not even been named in a League squad since October.
Lingard is ready to ask to be allowed to leave the club in January in a bid to revive his flagging career, and the Scottish rivals have emerged as candidates to sign him.
A stumbling block may be his wages, however. He currently earns £100,000 a week at United and will want to receive something close to that from his new employers.
That may be beyond the budget of the two Glasgow clubs, making it more likely that he will instead choose to remain in the Premier League.
