Former Juventus and AC Milan Max Allegri has confirmed that he wants to work in the Premier League.
The news will put on alert any of the major clubs thinking about making a managerial change.
Allegri led AC Milan to the Scudetto in 2011, and then moved to Juventus where he won five successive league titles, completing league and cup doubles in four of those seasons.
He had used his time away from the game to improve his English and is now ready to manage in the Premier League which he describes as “more sophisticated and tactical”.
At the moment there are no obvious vacancies at the top clubs but things change quickly in football. Pep Guardiola has just signed a new deal and Jurgen Klopp, Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard are all in title contention. Mikel Arteta has come under pressure after Arsenal’s bad start to the season but retains the confidence of the club owners.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is safe for now as well, but always appears to remain one or two bad results away from a crisis.

He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
