Jack Wilshere is being linked with a surprise return to Arsenal.
The former England star Is a free agent after being released by West Ham at the end of the transfer window and has been linked with a number of clubs, including Rangers, as well as a switch to the MLS.
He has previously admitted thought that he would dearly love to return to the Gunners where he started his career, and now they have emerged as the favourites to sign him again, with one leading bookmaker slashing the odds on him heading back to the Emirates.
The Gunners have had their worst start to the season for nearly 40 years, and have been struggling to create chances, finding the net just 10 times with the wide lacking creativity.
Wilshere represents a low-cost solution to their problems, although they will need to be convinced that the injury problems which dogged his previous career at the Emirates are a thing of the past.
