He was one of the players on Manchester United’s radar during the summer but they baulked at Aston Villa’s valuation of £70 million for him.
Manchester City have made Jack Grealish a transfer priority.
The 25-year old has a growing reputation having broken into the England team, and, although he signed a new five-year deal with Aston Villa in the summer, many believe that it is a just a matter of time before he joins a “Big Six” side.
The price tag has since gone up but City are one of the few clubs that could afford him.
However, Pep Guardiola has now identified him as a player he wants to bring to the Etihad, and has been supported by Kevin de Bruyne who played against Grealish recently for Belgium and was effusive in his praises.
One of the conditions that Guardiola stipulated when signing his new contract recently was that the club would back him in the transfer market.
