Davinson Sánchez could leave Spurs on loan in January.
The 24-year-old Columbian centre-back began the season as a first-team regular, but Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier have since stablished themselves as Jose Mourinho’s preferred pairing, and Sánchez has fallen down the pecking order.
And now with rumours that he has failed to convince his Portuguese manage, the club are prepared to sanction his departure. Tottenham would not be averse to an outright sale but, recognising that this is likely to be very difficult during January with the market depressed by the pandemic, they will look for chances to loan him out instead.
Sánchez joined Spurs for £42 million from Ajax in 2017 and has made 126 appearances for them in all competitions.
Last week it was reported he was involved in a dressing room clash with Jefferson Lemar of Bournemouth during Columbia’s loss to Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier.
