Manchester United still have hopes of bringing Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford next summer.
The Premier League club spent fruitless weeks pursuing the England winger in the last transfer window, and saw four bids rejected by Borussia Dortmund as they failed to match the Gerrman club’s valuation of the player,
In the end, they acquired the services of Edison Cavani in a last-minute deal on deadline day, but, undeterred, they still regard Sancho as a priority, even if they accept there is no chance of reigniting their interest in January.
They have been encouraged by the player himself, whop has told Dortmund that he wants to return to the Premier League.
And that may force Dortmund back to the negotiating table, although whether they are prepared to revisit his €120 (£107.5) million valuation is open to doubt.
Sancho is under contract with Dortmund until 2023.
