The hunt to sign Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is warming-up with Inter Milan now set to rival Barcelona for his signature.
The Dutch midfielder is into the final year of his current contract at Anfield but, despite suggestions that a new deal would be offered to him, there has been little progress to date. It has been reported that Liverpool are prepared to offer him a salary increase from £75,000 to £105,000.
He will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club in January so time is now o the essence if the Premier League club wish to keep him.
Wijnaldum was heavily lined with a move to Catalonia and a reunion with his former national team manager Ronald Koeman in the summer, but despite the speculation nothing materialised in the end.
Wijnaldum has spent six years on Merseyside but, having now turned 30, is said to be open to a change of scene.
