Celtic are considering a loan move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
The 23-year old who made his England debut against the Republic of Ireland last week sent the past two seasons on loan with Sheffield United, and was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer. He was eventually persuaded to stay and signed a new lucrative five-year deal wit the club, but he is unhappy with his role as understudy to David de Gea. Henderson has only mad three appearances for United so far this season, all in cup competitions.
With his chances of usurping the Spaniard, at least in the shot-term, slim, and with his prospects of being part of Gareth Southgate’s plans for the Euros next year suffering as a result, he now is looking for a chance to start playing regular first-team football again.
Celtic is one option or he may have to contemplate a move abroad, given there are no obvious vacancies with Premier League clubs.
